GFY 25 opens registration on 28 August
The registrations for the 12th edition of our Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival opens on Thursday, 28 August at 13:00 Beijing Time. As always, it is recommended to sign up early to avoid missing out on one of the full tour bibs. This year, the stage race takes place from 1 to 8 November, but is preceeded by a Duo TT limited to 500 couples or 1000 riders in total.
The 2025 edition will visit the same five cities as in 2024, but several race courses have been amended. Xishuangbanna - the last stage - is even expected to have a completely new course compared to a year ago. Mangshi will again feature as host of the opening stage, including the new duo TT on Friday, 31 October. The duo TT will be a Prologue of approx 8 to 10km that will not count towards the general classification of Granfondo Yunnan. In other words, if you cannot make it so early to Yunnan, you will not lose your ranking and finisher certificate (gold, silver or bronze) options. Stage 1 on Saturday will be the first stage that counts and that will see a first GC leader in the yellow jersey.
Tengchong is a classic meanwhile in our Granfondo Yunnan, and this year we will again climb to the fantastic Dong Shan summit towards the end of the exciting stage. The Queen’s Stage is once again Fengqing, a proper high mountain ride with exquisite views along the way. Pu’Er is the tea ride, in hopefully better weather conditions as last year when the stage was neutralised due to major rainfall - unusual that time of year. The big final will be in tourism town Jinghong in Xishuangbanna.
As the (very) rainy season is still ongoing in Yunnan Province, which always has a serious effect on road and surface conditions, all race courses are still labeled as provisional, yet at the same time they are also the targeted race courses. The definite courses will be confirmed following inspection by our dedicated team and race director in the course of September. Please refrain from asking for GPX files, as we will not distribute any until then.
We highly recommend participants to take a travel package in order to take all the hassle out of your trip. However, this is not mandatory so you can also decide to make your own arrangements and just sign up for the races.
International participants can get assistance for their registration and payment from Gloria Guo on gloria.guo@nordicways.com
Looking forward to seeing many of you in Yunnan in November!
