GF Yunnan 2024 from 2 to 9 November

The 2024 edition of the Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival is scheduled from 2 to 9 November. The event will feature a Prologue Time Trial, followed by five brand new regular stages. More details on the race courses, the event logistics and the opening of registration will follow in due course when all official procedures with and by the provincial and local authorities have been concluded.

As in 2018 and 2019, the event will begin on Saturday in Dehong - Mangshi with a 9km short individual TT to the Silver Pagoda just outside the city centre. Afterwards, it’s all brand new with a freshly designed stage in and around Mangshi on Sunday, 3 November, followed by a likewise newly designed stage in Tengchong. The first rest day on Tuesday includes a long bus transfer to Lincang-Fengqing for this year’s mountain stage per excellence on Wednesday. You can go all-in, because another rest day with long bus transfer on Thursday will take you to Friday’s Pu’Er - Simao stage around one of Yunnan’s main tea and coffee regions. The final stage in Xishuangbanna - Jinghong will test your resilience for sure, and is scheduled to end colourfully at a grand ethnic arena.

To get to Mangshi, from abroad, you could consider flying from Guangzhou or Kunming, even though other direct connections (Shanghai, Beijing) within China should also be available. To get out of Xishuangbanna, there’s even more options. Guangzhou, again, would be an interesting choice for participants coming from outside China.

More details to come soon.
