The second stage of the virtual Granfondo Yunnan Challenge on Kinomap was the longest and fastest. Set in Dali along the mythical Erhai Lake, riders-at-home had to complete a virtual course of 47,5km based on last year’s real stage of Granfondo Yunnan. In the end we have the same winners as last week in Mangshi, even though competition was more dense. Especially for Lithuanian Marius Ratkevičius, who took the stage win only on the last day. Ratkevičius did 2 minutes and 24 seconds faster than the rider with the Kinomap nickname Hicky625, who had been leading most of the week. The winning time was 1 hour 20 minutes and 4 seconds. That is not the virtual course record of this stage. Last month a rider in France nicknamed Richard BTT recorded a lightning 58’58”! A Polish rider nicknamed Grzesiekk19006 was third in 1:30:56.

First female rider was once again Julia Wolff. German but currently based in Shenyang in Northeastern China, she set a time of 1:34:48 on the Dali stage.

Both Ratkevičius and Wolff win a voucher for a free entry to their stage of choice in next year’s Granfondo Yunnan.

The winner of the lucky draw is the aforementioned Pole with the nickname Grzesiekk19006. As he is a member of the Kinomap platform, we will get to know his real name in due course.

As of now, you can all compete on the mountain stage of our Granfondo Yunnan in Lijiang. In essence, the final 24 km of the climb up the backside of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Magnificent vistas along the way will help you torment those pedals of your ergo bike at home, and will make you long for the real stage in 2021!

Kinomap: Lijiang stage.

GOOD LUCK!
