What? Brand new stage for 2019 featuring the big Yingjiang River and the beautiful ethnic mountain village of Ximazhen, close to the Myanmar border. Some call it a ‘hidden paradise’.
Where? Start at the theme park in Yingjiang. Finish at Ximazhen (long distance)
When? Start is at 9:00 a.m.
How? Easy to get to the start from any hotel in the city. After the finish, busses will take riders back down the mountain
Red flag: Don’t be silly and do not attempt short-cutting. We catch you, you’re out of the whole granfondo event. After the finish in Ximazhen, we cannot allow you to descend by bike, sorry for that but it’s the way it is.
Bottom line: Starting from Yingjiang City, the route has a few bumps - some steeper than the other - riding through mountain villages, before a long flattish section along the river banks. The finish line is up at Ximazhen, though, after a long and decent - but not so steep - climb. Enjoy your time at the finish, tomorrow is a rest day! Busses - when full - will take you back to the city.
Short distance riders ride around the wetland park and finish at the same place as the start
