Stage 2: Tuulkhangai & Tuvshinjargal unstoppable

The second stage of the Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival in Yuxi was certainly no copy of yesterday, but the winners were the same: both Tugulduur Tuulkhangai and Enkhjargal Tuvshinjargal won the 174km rollercoaster ride around Fuxian Lake on another beautiful sunny day.

Stage 1: Tuulkhangai finishes Mongolian coup

The 2015 Colourful Yunnan Cycling Festival took off today under blue skies and saw a fantastic race on the rollercoaster between Yiliang and Shilin, passing by parts of the famous Stone Forest. The Mongolians committed a superb coup de force with Tugulduur Tuulkangai as eventual stage winner in the men’s and Enkhjargal Tuvshinjargal in the women’s.

Strong field for 2nd edition of Granfondo Yunnan

The 2015 Colourful Yunnan Cycling Festival starts tomorrow and is set to boost its reputation as the greatest stage race for non-professional cyclists in China. A completely redesigned 1st stage to Shilin (Stone Forest) near Kunming will immediately warm the peloton's legs over 120km.

Visit enchanting Lijiang

The last stage of our 5-stage Granfondo Yunnan tour will again take place in Lijiang at an altitude of over 2000m above sea level. Starting in the Naxi Old Town, the race will be decided on the slopes of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Like Dali, Lijiang is a very popular tourist spot.

Visit Dali - the original backpacker mecca

Dali is 300km northwest of Kunming and is the economic and cultural center of the Bai ethnic minority. It is wonderfully located place at the large Erhai Lake and surrounded by mountains of up to 4000m. Along with Yangshuo in Guangxi, Dali is often referred to as China's original backpacker town.

Arguably the least known of the five cities that host the Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival is Chuxiong. Home of the Yi ethnic minority group, Chuxiong was therefore a pleasant surprise for all event participants last year.
