As already announced on social media some time ago, the 5th edition of Colourful Yunnan Granfondo Cycling Festival is forecast to have a significant face-lift. New stages, but also new cities and an additional prologue time trial are some of those new highlights from 3 to 10 November 2018.

Three in a row for Miga!

As could be expected, Myagmarsuren Baasankhuu left the best for last at this year's edition of Granfondo Yunnan. The Mongolian scored a hattrick of wins in Lijiang and once again claimed the overall title of our event  at the 3200m high Maoniuping or Yak Plateau.

Bat-Erdene the next Mongolian winner

After three of his compatriots took stage wins in the previous days, Panda Mongolia rider Naraankhuu Bat-Erdene took the line first in the 120 km stage from Dali to Heqing. He finished ahead of yellow jersey Tuulkhangai, Batsaikhan and Basaankhuu. Tang Xin was best woman again.

Brilliant win by Tugulduur as Tang Xin grabs yellow

Yellow jersey Tugulduur Tuulkhangai scored a tactically brilliant stage win today on Mount Zixi in Chuxiong. Whereas the Mongolian team captain always lost his jersey and the overall victory of our race in the previous years, he now outgunned four of his compatriots in the sprint as they failed to drop him on the 14km long climb. China's Tang Xin won the women's race and is the new leader.

Jamba rides away his frustration

Jambaljamts Sainbayar rode away his frustration of having missed yesterday's successful breakaway in today's second stage of Granfondo Yunnan in Yuxi. The 21-year-old Mongolian attacked early, got reeled in, but still had enough juice in the legs to win the sprint of an elite group.

Mongolia festival in Kunming

Mongolian riders again dominated the first stage of the 2017 Granfondo Yunnan, held in beautiful sunny conditions in Kunming. Top talent Teghsbayar Batsaikhan won the final sprint ahead of his compatriots Tugulduur Tuulkhangai and last year's winner Myagmarsuren Baasaankhuu.
